Brief

With digital tools. Devolop a dining table with matching seating for outdoor use in pine wood. Stackable, foldable or knock-down.

Ideation

The foldable furniture have something lively and interactive to it. The combination of textile and wood was something I wanted to explore. It´s a clever and lightweight solution.

Pattern

The pattern of the textile is inspired by Shibori, a japanese technique where fabric is folded and dyed. The expression reflects the concept of the furniture, to fold.

Final design

The emphasis of this project has been on construction and function. The result is a foldable set of furniture. The table and chair are following the same design principles, to create a coherent expression, despite different materials.
